Events such as the annual Salon International de la Haute Horlogeri (SIHH) and Baselworld are made to pay tribute to some of the most beautiful and most expensive timepieces in the world. The WatchTime exhibition held recently in New York is another example of an event where the best timepieces are showcased for watch lovers, enthusiasts, fans, and other people to see. In fact, one of the highlights of the event is the showcasing the best timepieces in 2016- 5 of them being the most expensive watches in the world that would cost more than $1.75 million if you add them all up! All famous brands showcased their top watches for 2016. There were also a couple of watch brands making a debut in the US for the first time.

This is a limited edition watch that retails for $472,500. Jaquet Droz has said that there will be only 8 pieces of this hand-winding mechanical watch housed in 18-karat white gold.

Made from 18-karat white gold, the watch boasts a unique a unique fusée-and-chain transmission and a tourbillon with a patented stop-seconds mechanism. The watch is powered by the brand’s very own Lange Manufacture Caliber L072.1 which they developed on their own. This 351-part watch movement is adjusted precisely in five positions and its three-quarter plate is made of untreated German silver. As with other A. Lange & Sohne timepieces, the movement is assembled, tested, taken apart, cleaned, oiled and reassembled.
