EBEL is a Swiss luxury watch company founded by Eugene Blum and Alice Levy in 1911 in the city of La Chaux-de-Fonds in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. It was a year after its founding that EBEL introduced its first line of wristwatches. Since then, the brand rose to popularity along with EBEL being awarded a gold medal by the Swiss National Exhibition for its patented ring watches that featured a hidden time setting and pallet escapement.
EBEL’s excellence in Swiss watchmaking continued to be recognized, and this led to other brands ordering EBEL watches for resale under their own company name. In 2004, EBEL was acquired by one of the premier watchmakers in the world today, Movado Group, Inc. Today, EBEL continues to stay true to its values and is still one of the most sought-after watch brands in the world.
