Glycine is a Swiss watch manufacturer that has been producing high-quality timepieces since 1914. The company was founded by Eugène Meylan, a watch engineer who had an eye for perfection and an understanding of both technological possibilities and market demands of his time.
Glycine was recognized for producing small movements for women’s watches that were extremely precise. This eventually led to the company being able to put the finest miniature movements in the market, most of which are clad in gold and platinum cases and often studded with diamonds. In 1950, the popularity of Glycine rose even higher with the launching of their 24-hour watch called the Airman, which made the company favorable to both commercial pilots and the military. Today, Glycine is recognized as one of the true pioneers for aviation, as well as for world timer watches for both pilots and travelers.
