The Huawei Watch is among the most beautiful smartwatches in the market today. It’s got an amazing AMOLED display which has the highest resolution in any Android smartwatch to date, along with a sapphire crystal to protect the display from breaking and scratches. Its display is also on by default at all times which is an interesting feature to have on a smartwatch. No more tapping the screen or flicking your wrist just to lit up the screen.
The Huawei Watch is indeed beautiful. It has an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a barometer, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, and a heart-rate sensor. It does lack an ambient light sensor, GPS, and NFC. The Watch can also track basic activities like calories burned, distance covered and steps.
The Huawei Watch runs on Android Wear operating system. And as you might already know all Android Wear watches are somewhat the same when it comes to its functionalities. The Huawei Watch is a new product but it doesn’t feel like exactly new because of the Android Wear operating system that runs it. The functionality is lacking as compared to what you get from Apple Watch. The Android Wear operating system really needs to improve before you can get more out of any Android smartwatch.
The Huawei Watch has amazing specs just like its competition. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8926), quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 CPU, with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. A 300mAh Li-Ion battery, a stainless steel case, and an IP-67 rating.

- IP-67 rating.
- Bad battery life.
- No GPS.
- No ambient light sensor.
- No NFC.
- Too expensive.
- Android Wear needs improvement.
There’s no mistake in saying that the Huawei Watch is indeed the one of most beautiful smartwatches out there. But with its looks comes a very high price tag. No one would buy a very expensive smartwatch which has a very confusing user interface. It does look good but that is all that is there to it. It’s not completely different from all other Android smartwatches that have been released in the market. Here’s hoping that Huawei can improve on the shortcomings of the Huawei Watch since this is still their first smartwatch. But, if you are looking for a smartwatch for pure luxury and elegance, the Huawei Watch is a good example of it.
Huawei is getting a lot of attention nowadays because of its latest smartphones. Before, the company is only known for its affordable smartphones but everything’s changed when they first released their first ever smartwatch, the Huawei Watch.
