Product Specifications

The original gadget in this series, 3001 maintains its status of durability and quality. Constructed of stainless steel case colored black with polyurethane bands with a flexible buckle closure, the watch also is water resistant to 200 metres depth.

It consists of a polyurethane black painted bezel which is unidirectional and has Luminox accents also to ease in usage. The precision Swiss motions keep accurate time plus it is protected by scratch resistant saffire crystals with anti-reflective coating.

This variation of original Navy SEAL watches features all black painted features with both Luminox accents for stealth and visibility. The BO features black rubber cases and bezel for enhanced noise reduction and shock resistance

The case material-carbon strengthened with polymer injection case is tremendously durable with a radius of 21.5 mm. The unidirectional polymer bezel will keep one on target. The back PVD stainless steel case is secured with tight stainless steel screws meant for extra security

Pros

  • The luminous stuff placed on the face and hands(tritium vials) is bright. This means you can wake up at four thirty at dawn and have no problem reading it.
  • The twelve on the dot tritium vial is not green but orange, acting as some index point in complete darkness as well.
  • The bezel could be turned easily, but would not turn by itself if you aren’t looking.
  • Accuracy is good.
  • Shock resistance, total durability is quite good

Cons

  • The Navy SEAL publicity can be slightly annoying.
  • The bezel is plastic, and after 2-3 years of use begins to go smooth as the numbers begin to wear off.
  • The luminous part on the face and hands (tritium vials) is pretty bright.
  • The synthetic strap is not so good. You can replace the band with nylon/Velcro ones on the very first day.
  • The little compass which comes with it basically is a futile effort, get a Suunto watchband compasses. Same size, amazing in every way.

Personal Opinions

Apart from using luminescent paint that loses visibility and has to be recharged over time, they use small gas light tubes which are on always. They do not require to be recharged, neither do you require to push buttons to activate illumination as required by other battery operated watches.
