Luxury fashion house LVMH has locked hands in partnership with luxury automaker Land Rover. The partnership signals the beginning of a series of collaborations to come between the two luxury behemoths. And what is up on deck first? A signature timepiece, the El Primero Range Rover Special Edition.
Here’s an automatic chronograph that clock in at 42mm and benefits from a unique ceramic-aluminium fusion. The material is ultra resistant and equally light. Thusly, LVMH and Land Rover were able to solve any challenges with the weight of the timepiece. Now it’s a svelte chronograph with smaller, more legible subdials.
It boasts a 50 hour power reserve and a water resistance of 100m. The movement is the EL Primero 400 B with a lovely touch of engraving added for charm. Falling under the umbrella of the Zenith line of timepieces, the El Primero will follow much in the same way of other such collaborations between automakers and watch brands.
Everyone from Breitling and Bell & Ross have coupled up with luxury automakers to render top of the line timepieces that pay homage to the road or the roadster. This is no different except here the brand of vehicle is not a two seater sportscar but a robust Range Rover. And the pairing is certainly a logical one given Range Rover’s popular urban appeal and Louis Vuitton’s near cult status in social circles.
The Special Edition El Primero retails for $7700.
