Review Summary:

A solid fitness-tracking watch that will definitely serve its purpose without any non-sense.

The Mio ALPHA 2 Heart Rate Watch + Activity Tracker  is one of the best watches I’ve ever used. It’s a smartwatch that doesn’t come short when you talk about modern features and technologies although it suffers a big hit on how it looks.

When you talk about smartwatches, the first thing that will come to your mind most of the time is its beautiful, premium and modern look, right? The Mio Alpha 2 is not the kind of watch that you would want to wear when you dine in a fancy restaurant. The Mio Alpha 2 is ideal for outdoor use since it looks and functions like that of a sports watch. The watch looks just so-so and this is not a surprise. The company behind it is not exactly known for their product design but because of the quality of their fitness trackers.

The Mio Alpha 2 may not be one of the best-looking watches out there but it is definitely one of the most feature-packed. The watch has heart rate monitoring, it counts your steps, distance traveled, and calories burned among other things. All of the data will be stored in the watch and you have the option to transfer it to your other devices via Mio GO (the companion app). There’s no GPS here and the watch won’t be able to tell you how closer you are to your daily fitness goal which is a bit disappointing since these features are mostly common on other sports watches.

The Mio Alpha 2 packs a battery that can last up to 24 hours with heavy use. I find out that the battery drains a lot faster especially if it calculates multiple workouts. But the battery can last for 3 months when it is on “watch mode” only.

Product Features:
  • Heart Rate Monitoring
  • Bluetooth Connectivity
  • Fitness Tracking
  • 30m Water Resistance
  • Smart LED Light Indicator
  • Mio PAI
Pros:
  • Accurate heart rate monitoring.
  • Water resistant.
  • Comfortable to wear.
Cons:
  • Lacks a couple features important for a fitness tracking watch.
  • The app looks dull.
Conclusion:

I like the Mio Alpha 2 as a fitness tracking watch. The Optical Heart Rate Technology will monitor everything about your heartbeat; its pace, speed, maximum beat and average beat. If you are a fitness enthusiast or an athlete, the Mio Alpha will serve its purpose while it’s on your wrist. It gives you all the fitness information you need to help you achieve you fitness goals.

A solid fitness-tracking watch that will definitely serve its purpose without any non-sense.
