The Omate X Smart Watch is what I would like to call as a complete smartwatch. It’s like a smartphone on your wrist.
The watch is definitely chunk but despite of it, it’s still comfortable on my wrist thanks to its lightweight construction. The watch supports SIM card which you can insert on a flap on its left side. There’s a built-in mic located on the hole on the top of the watch. On the right is where you can find two physical buttons each with different functions. On the bottom is where you can find the speaker. You can also insert a memory card if you want increase its internal memory. The touchscreen display measures 4.5 inch square with a resolution of 240 x 240. The watch also features 3-axis accelerometer, Bluetooth, and GPS among others.
You can configure the settings Omate X on how you want it. The watch is fully customizable from ringtones, notification alerts, vibrations, phone calls, messages and may more. You can also adjust the brightness of the screen as well as scheduling the screen to switch on or off automatically on a designated time. The Bluetooth allows you to pair it with up with an Android phone or an iPhone if you want to receive texts, calls, alarms, reminders and other notifications on your watch. Thanks to the built-in mic and speaker, phone calls are pretty much good across the board and you should be able to talk to everyone through it.
The Omate X is far from perfect though. There are couple of issues here that most people will not like particularly its display. You can’t just see the screen easily under direct sunlight since it’s very reflective. Also, the screen remains idle all the time. You have to push the button on the right side so you can turn it on which is very troublesome.
