We founded Rossling & Co. in Montreal last year. We developed our first ultra thin watch with its unique tweed strap and launched it on Kickstarter to fund production. The response was overwhelming. We raised $170,000 and shipped close to 2000 watches to 53 countries. Taking into account our customers’ suggestions and ideas, we started working on our second design, the Rossling & Co. Automatic
Tell us more about yourself – how did you go into watchmaking?
I have always been attracted by the world of watchmaking. The combination of technology and art, functionality and beauty, is what motivated me to create and manufacture my own designs.
Tell us more about the watch
The new Rossling & Co. Automatic watch is a luxury watch, blending classical lines with very contemporary minimalist aesthetics. It features a large 40mm dial and an ultra-thin 9mm case. The unique strap is made of rugged yet luxurious suede which can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. The heart of the watch is the well-regarded Miyota Cal. 9015 Automatic movement (24-jewel). It is a quality Japanese self-winding mechanical movement with a 42-hour reserve. Only the best materials have been used (sapphire crystal, solid stainless steel case).
Where is the watches available? How do customers order one and what is the pricing?
The Automatic watch is available for pre-order on Kickstarter. We reached our funding goal in 21 minutes so this means we will be going ahead with production. Delivery will me in March 2015. Pre-order price is US$399 until Nov. 11. After that, retail price will be US$499. The Quartz model with tweed strap is available right now for immediate delivery. What is next for Rossling & Co.
