Shinola Runwell Sport Chronograph Review
Only a few precious days remain before President Barack Obama leaves the Oval Office for life as a private US citizen. The President certainly impressed upon us his natural flare for style.
Nothing was more evident of that than his trip to Detroit wherein he proudly rocked a Shinola Runwell Sport Chronograph and visited the American boutique to laud praises on the brand.
In that time since, people around the world have been clamoring to find out more about the brand and the timepiece Mr. Obama wears on his wrist.
What’s under the hood? The Shinola’s Runwell Sport Chrono comes in variations of diameter, including the 42mm the President wears. It has a stainless steel case with a double dome sapphire crystal. The dial is a sturdy carbon fiber with arabic numerals for the display.Â
As far as simple aesthetics go, Shinola has carefully paid attention to all of them. The black alligator strap is a gentle touch of subtlety. Â As far as chronographs go this one boasts an argonite 5050 Quartz movement. The American brand hand assembled the movement while implementing well over 100 Swiss and other international components.
Other iterations of the watch come in platinum with various jewels. However it starts at a reasonable $875.
