The Uno 24 is a single-handed watch developed under the brand name Botta Design. For those who are not familiar with Botta Design, it is the leading authority when it comes to single-hand watches.
Uno 24, as it name suggests, indicates time in a 24 hour format. This approach might be a bit unusual for some people especially those who prefer watches with 12 hour format. Even though this is not the first time that I’ve tested a single-hand watch, I still find the Uno 24 confusing. It takes some time getting used to it. The single hand on the watch will slowly go around the dial once each day.
I like the Uno 24 because of its simplicity and minimalist design approach. It’s a desirable watch at an affordable price. Inside it is a Swiss Ronda 515.24H movement. As mentioned earlier, the watch has only one hand but there’s a date here as an added functionality. That single hand revolves around the dial once every 24 hours. Even though there’s no minute hand, you will still be able to read the time accurately to within a few minutes. While some people don’t really understand the purpose behind single-handed watches, I still appreciate these watches including the Uno 24 for giving us a different watch. One that strays from standard timepieces which gives a simpler way of telling time. I find myself more relax when checking out the time on the Uno 24. You don’t feel any rush from the minutes or seconds hand since those are not available.
When it comes to the build quality, I would say the Uno 24 is right up there with the competition. It has modern look to it which is clearly evident from its steel case which comes brushed or made from PVD black steel. The case measures 40mm which I think will appeal to most people. The watch also have sapphire crystal which means they should be harder to scratch. It also comes with 30 meters of water resistance which I think is adequate enough.
